Chobe Safari Day Trip
Seeing Victoria Falls is one of the best experiences you will ever have. If you are in Victoria Falls the safari on offer in this region is a day trip to Chobe Game Reserve. There is nothing better than sipping a cocktail while cruising down the Chobe river viewing game along river banks. This allows you to get very close, and is a must when in the Vic Falls region. Best of all it is a short trip from the Victoria Falls making it easy to include a Chobe Safari Day trip in your travel itinerary.
Chobe National Park is widely regarded as having the most diverse concentration of animals within the area. At the park you can be sure to see at least four of the big five – it is the Rhino that is most elusive here. But elephants, zebra’s, cheetahs, lions, giraffes and wild dogs are just a few of the animals you can view.
The Chobe National Park is situated in Botswana and stretches across 10,689 square kilometres of vast wilderness. It is the second largest national park in Botswana but has the biggest concentration of animal life within the park and is known for their huge elephant population. The elephant population here is special for a number of reasons. The elephants make up the highest concentration of elephants in Africa. They are also the largest surviving elephant population on earth. You are guaranteed to see elephants up close on a Chobe Day trip.
The park also has some extensive San rock paintings which remain from the area’s first inhabitants. Chobe is a unique wonderland full of mystery, endless diversity and game in abundance.
Clients are collected in the morning around 07h30 and transported to the border post, then across the mighty Zambezi heading to where the borders of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana meet in the middle of the river. The meeting of four countries is one of only two places on the globe where this is possible. At Kasane, Botswana, clients commence a river cruise down the Chobe River. This riverfront area is renowned for its large herds of elephant, buffalo, variety of antelope, hippo, crocodile and a myriad of birds.
The afternoon includes a scenic wilderness game drive in Chobe National Park with a return to Victoria Falls or Livingstone by Sunset.
