Best of Botswana
The Okavango Delta & Chobe - Our 3 Camp Combination
Untarnished, expansive and exquisite. Botswana is greatly respected by its people and one of the few African countries to realise the importance of ecological preservation and low impact tourism.
Unique in its diversity of regions – green wetlands, forested islands tapering into riverbanks and rivers that eventually run dry into the parched sands of the Kalahari Desert – to see Botswana is to experience the Real Africa. Wild, unexpected and beautiful.
Botswana was first inhabited by the semi-nomadic San people, bantu-speaking tribes from the north who moved into the area before the first millennium.
The Permanent Delta is about birds and water game, with activities centered around the Mokoro trails.
The Seasonal Delta is more about Big Game and game activities in 4x4 vehicles, a number of Seasonal Camps are however able to offer both water and land activities.
Chobe National Park
There is a place where elephants, lured by the season, concentrate in large herds creating dust and scenes from a time of our dreams.
Chobe's wildlife roams in profusion and diversity. It is home to the largest concentration of Elephant in Africa and during the dry season the herds congregate along the fertile flood plains of the Chobe River. Large herds of Buffalo also concentrate on the floodplains during the dry season. Other major species such as Lion, Wild Dog, Puku, Red Lechwe, Sable and Roan Antelope are encountered in many areas of the reserve.
Enjoy a wonderful sunset cruise down the Chobe River. Affording spectacular wildlife viewing and enabling you to experience an unforgettable African Sunset.
From Johannesburg we fly on Air Botswana into Kasane which is a small airport bordering the Chobe National Park. From here you are transferred by road to one of the five star Safari Lodges in or adjoining the National Park.
Spend two nights at the lodge enjoying River Cruises and game drives by day in the National Park. All meals and drinks are included in our packages as well as Park fees.
Road transfer back to Kasane airport where you will fly by light aircraft to a water camp in the Okavango Delta.
Spend two nights in one of these upmarket tented camps in a region of myriad waterways, palm-tree covered islands and vast flood plains. The magnificent sunsets can be enjoyed during times of high flood when the sound of the fish eagle fills the air with the magic of Africa.
After two nights, we fly again by light aircraft to one of the luxury camps in the Seasonal Delta where 4x4 game drives in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve which is renowned for its large concentrations of mammals.
It is not unusual to see many different types of wildlife from the comfort of your own private deck. As a year round destination for wildlife, predators can regularly be seen in the area, rated as one of the most prolific in Botswana for viewing wildlife. The exceptional location of Khwai makes it a regular host to Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Wild Dogs. Birdlife can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors near the lodge.
This is the perfect location for observing the perennial drama of the African bushveld and provides excellent birding.
This six night safari combines the “Best of Botswana” and can also be extended to more nights. We can also include an add-on to the Victoria Falls which is just about an hour by road to Kasane.
