Eastern Cape

The Eastern Cape is one of the most beautiful and interesting regions in Southern Africa. From the semi-desert Karoo to the lush green forests of the Garden Route. The Wild Coast and the Sunshine Coast have some of the world’s best beaches with Jeffreys Bay world famous for its “supertubes”. The region also offers visitors a wealth of fauna and flora, including the big 5 in the Amakhala and Addo Game Reserves. Another highlight of the Eastern Cape are the cultures and traditions of the Xhosa people. The Tsistikamma National Park can be found between Port Elizabeth and Plettenberg Bay and consists of indigenous forests and coastlines. The historic city of Grahamstown, famous for its annual National Arts Festival and including some outstanding schools of culture and learning, Rhodes University being one such icon.
